Being part of MISA has helped me grow both academically and professionally—I've gained confidence as a speaker, learned important career skills, and built meaningful connections with others. My favorite memory as the event committee member so far has been the "MISA on the Mic" event, especially the creative and fun lip sync battles! I love how each event at MISA is an opportunity to grow. If you're considering joining, go for it! There's no downside to trying it out, and you'll be surprised by how much you gain just by getting involved. "

"My decision to join one of the MISA committees came through the recommendation from a good friend of mine. I was already familiar with the great events that MISA hosted and the thought of being a part of the planning and logistics aspect of these events sounded like an invaluable opportunity that I couldn’t let pass me by. Being a part of the events committee has furthered my understanding of the processes and efforts that go into creating a meaningful and engaging event. Through collaboration, long term planning, and audience engagement, I’ve been able to improve upon my confidence and ability to navigate professional settings.My favorite memory, or I should say memories, are the reactions from the members we see attend our social events. Though I’ve only been on the events committee for a short period of time, it still means a lot when I see club members enjoying themselves at the events my teammates and I work hard to plan. To anyone considering joining MISA, I recommend you do so sooner rather than later; From the technical value you gain through speaker events, the memories and connections you build during our socials, and the helping hand(s) you receive from the amazing officers, you’re guaranteed to leave in a better position you came in. "I decided to join MISA because prior to this club, I had no form of professional experience through jobs or clubs at my old community college. Joining MISA allowed me to expand my professional network and meet like-minded people who continue to inspire me as I gain more experience through club events, committee meetings, and networking. Being a part of MISA has helped me grow academically and professionally by improving my communication, teamwork, and leadership skills through active involvement in events, meetings, and workshops. My favorite memory would probably be the corporate committee meetings, where we plan events and host workshops. It's very rewarding to see the turnout of our events and how successful they are. To anyone interested in joining MISA, I would say just do it. I was intimidated before joining because I had no professional experience and thought that everyone was ahead of me. But through this club, I learned that everyone's journey starts somewhere, and MISA is the perfect way to grow, not just professionally, but as a person as well. "

"Joining MISA and taking on the role of Corporate Relations committee member has been one of the most rewarding decisions I have made professionally. It has allowed me to expand my skillset and knowledge while unlocking one-of-a-kind opportunities. Coming into the Fall 2025 semester, I was searching for a way to connect with like-minded individuals who are driven by the same goals and aspirations as myself. The professional and academic skills that I have gained through attending meetings, as well as connecting with business professionals through the Corporate Relations committee, will not be taken for granted. Academically, I have been exposed to SJSU resources that I was previously unfamiliar with that aid in my educational journey, along with teaching me how to balance a substantial extracurricular schedule while maintaining academic excellence. Professionally, I feel as though expanding my personal network and connecting with individuals in the field has not only assisted me in making decisions about my own professional future, but has also made me feel knowledgeable enough to begin to help others in their journey, which MISA has allowed me to do. One of my favorite memories from the semester was collaborating with my "Recruiter Panel" workshop group to make corrections and draft a great example of a polished resume while competing and eventually beating our competition to earn a prize. Throughout my time at MISA, I have made genuine connections with its members while presenting interactive workshop ideas within my committee, speaking and relating to the people around me, and participating in professional and social events, made with involvement and professional development in mind. For anyone who is considering joining MISA, whether you are a newly admitted first-year or a third-year like myself, join and see for yourself why MISA is considered one of SJSU's most notable clubs for learning valuable professional skills from individuals who inspire members to become the greatest versions of themselves."

"What made me want to join MISA was the various events that would help to guide me in the future. I was also intrigued by the club's various guest speakers it had offered to come and speak to. The MISA externship has helped me to be more academically successful by teaching me the importance of teamwork. It has also taught me about public speaking in the professional world. My favorite memory as a part of the MISA would be the excel workshop we have done. That has taught us about Excel in an exciting way. For anyone who is considering joining MISA, I would definitely recommend doing it. You will get a lot out of it."

"I decided to join MISA because I wanted to grow professionally and make new friends. Since then, I have been able to develop my professional skills and learn from others. My favorite memory so far would be the Family Feud social we did at the beginning of the semester. MISA is a great, supportive community where you can build both your technical and business skills while also building lasting friendships!"

"Being a part of MISA has helped me develop key skills such as resume and LinkedIn building, networking, gaining business acumen, and hands on experiences. This has led me to expand my career interests and seek more opportunities. MISA also made me realize how important it is to get involved with student organizations because they not only improve your business and technical skills but also help build life skills such as self confidence, public speaking, communication, networking, and hands on experiences. My favorite moment from MISA was when the Finance Committee ran the Krispy Kreme Fundraiser where I gained hands-on experience executing a successful fundraiser while improving my public speaking, customer interactions, and financial skills such as budgeting, sales, and profit analysis. I was also part of the fall 2025 externship program which was also a great experience as I improved on my presentation, pitching, consulting, and data analysis skills. Overall I am very satisfied and glad I joined this organization my first year."
