MISA hosted its second kickoff event, bringing members together for a fun-filled day outdoors. We enjoyed games like tug of war and other team activities, making it a great opportunity to connect and build community.
Kick Off #3: Breaking into Big Tech
MISA-hosted event featured an engaging panel discussion with professionals from leading FAANG companies, including AWS, Apple, and Google. Panelists shared insights into their current roles, day-to-day responsibilities, and career journeys, offering members a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to work at top tech companies. They also provided practical advice on breaking into similar roles, discussing key skills, interview preparation strategies, networking tips, and ways to stand out in the application process. The event gave attendees valuable guidance and inspiration for pursuing careers in the tech industry.
Tech Tank
MISA hosted an interactive event where members collaborated in teams to develop and pitch innovative AI-driven ideas to a panel of judges. Participants worked together to identify real-world problems and propose creative, technology-based solutions, showcasing both their technical knowledge and presentation skills. After hearing all the pitches, the judges evaluated each team ultimately selecting the top three teams. The event fostered creativity, teamwork, and practical application of AI concepts in a competitive and engaging environment.

MISA hosted a professional development event focused on LinkedIn Learning, where members had the opportunity to explore the platform and complete a guided learning module. During the session, participants gained hands-on experience navigating LinkedIn Learning, discovering relevant courses, and understanding how to leverage the platform to build both technical and professional skills.
